Selection Criteria | Who are we looking for?

We are looking for entrepreneurs with an existing business idea who are ready to dedicate the next 3 months to preparing for the next stage of growth through participation in an advising pre-accelerator program, securing initial seed funding, or non-equity-based financing.

Value | What can you expect?

A six-week program that will allow you to test and validate your MVP through practical tasks and regular mentoring sessions with industry experts, investors, and managers of leading accelerators in Ireland.

1. Practice Your Pitch with Real Audiences

Simulate a live presentation: Gather colleagues, friends, or mentors who can act as your audience. This practice will help you gain confidence and spot any weak points.

Record yourself: Watch your recorded pitches to evaluate your body language, tone, and timing. Pay attention to areas where you might speak too quickly or lose engagement.

2. Perfect the Structure of Your Pitch

Start with a strong hook: Engage the audience from the beginning by highlighting a problem your startup solves with a compelling story or statistic.

Focus on key elements:

1) Problem: What specific issue are you addressing?
2) Solution: How does your product solve the problem?
3) Market Opportunity: What is the market size and potential growth?
4) Traction: Show key metrics like users, revenue, or partnerships.
5) Business Model: How will you make money and scale?
6) Team: Why is your team the right one to succeed?

3. Prepare for Questions

Think through potential questions: Investors will want to ask about scalability, risks, competitors, and finances. Practice answering these questions confidently.

Do a mock Q&A session: Have your audience or mentors ask difficult questions to simulate the real Demo Day experience.

4. Create Engaging Visuals

Minimalistic and clear slides: Avoid overwhelming slides with too much text. Focus on visuals like graphs, infographics, and bold headlines that complement your narrative.

Use numbers strategically: Display key statistics that back up your claims but don’t overload your slides with too much data.

5. Time Management

Stick to time limits: Practice several times with a timer to ensure you’re hitting all key points within the allocated time. You should have enough time for both your pitch and a Q&A session.

6. Test the Tech Setup

Technical rehearsal: Check all equipment ahead of time, including your presentation slides, clicker, projector, microphone, and any video content. Have backups available (e.g., USB with your presentation, extra cables).

7. Get Feedback

Iterate based on feedback: After each practice session, gather feedback and tweak both your content and delivery style. Ask specific questions like: Did I communicate the problem clearly? Was my solution easy to understand?

8. Final Rehearsals

Full dress rehearsal: Perform a full rehearsal under conditions that simulate the actual Demo Day, including standing up, speaking in front of an audience, and using the full technical setup.
